The space is a large open plan bar restaurant situated on the 8th floor of the Oko Tower with great rooftop views of upscale Pinares. There is a car park just outside the entrance but it does get very busy on weekends. Inside the decor is beautiful, modern and very well done with a beautiful large cocktail bar and plenty of seating available to accommodate everyone from intimate dinners to large groups. Illuminated trees with scarlet leaves and green plants hanging from the ceiling give the space a high-end tropical feel. Plus, the in-house DJ playing tropical house music over the soundsystem ( for once, not too loud for table conversations ) makes the place a great setting for a meal or drinks with friends.

The menu, I have to say, was a little confusing. Most of the menu is listed under the heading Para Compartir ( to share ), but it wasn’t clear whether these sharing plates were large main courses or small starters for sharing. When we asked our waitress she pretty much just confused us even more! But never mind, they also offer a range of Sushi and Fish dishes, Pizzas and various cuts of Red Meat. 

The views are nice, the setting is gorgeous and very Instagram friendly, and the prices were very reasonable.

Due to it being a Friday in Lent I wasn’t able to sample either the Pizza or the Steaks, so I had to make due with a Tuna dish that to my horror was served raw… I should have asked! Aleja ordered her usual fillet of Salmon which was served over a bed of mash potatoes with Salad. Despite my choice of dish not being my favourite due to dietary restrictions, the food was excellently prepared with attention to detail and great service.

Midway through our meal some entertainers began roaming the restaurant on unicycles before performing a show of juggling and acrobatics. They were great and the vibe was really fun, this is a really great place to come for cocktails with a group of friends, but it’s also a great night out with your partner for a romantic dinner. The views are nice, the setting is gorgeous and very Instagram friendly, and the prices were very reasonable.

We had a great time at Zelva Rooftop and I’m looking forward to returning on a night when I can try their Steaks or Pizza. Overall, great food, great service and beautiful location. An awesome rooftop bar in the heart of Pereira’s most upscale neighbourhood. Well worth a visit!
