Ask any Pereirano what is the best restaurant in Pereira and most will mention the award-winning Ambar Restaurante - the haute cuisine establishment of local chef Diego Panesso.

Located on Calle 14 in between Pereira’s most upscale neighbourhoods of Pinares and Los Alamos, Ambar is a local favourite for lovers of high-end food in swanky surroundings. The restaurant is modern and elegant in decor and the menu is a really great example of contemporary Colombian cuisine that fuses traditional flavours from the coffee region with inspirations from around the world.

Every time I’ve been to Ambar, I’ve enjoyed every moment. The food is of a level that showcases Chef Diego Panesso’s professional training in Barcelona, and is of a quality rarely found in Colombia. I particularly recommend for meat lovers the Beef Bourguignon which is just amazing!

It’s not a restaurant that will break the bank either with most dishes around 40K-50K in price, it’s an extremely affordable dining experience, with top-notch service and is in my opinion one of the must-visit restaurants in the coffee region. 

Making a reservation is highly recommended on weekends, and they also cater for events and parties.
