If you’re not a Sushi lover like me, the menu can seem a little limited, but everything I’ve ordered has always been delicious… I mostly go for the BBQ Spare Ribs which is a massive portion of soft and tender spare ribs in a delicious BBQ sauce, just excellent! However they also do awesome traditional Colombian breakfasts.

Before you visit Emilios you should probably be aware that it is one of Pereira’s most popular high-end restaurants, situated just off the Circunvalar in the trendy Pinares neighborhood, it’s a favourite spot for birthday parties and special occasions. Which does mean occasionally the quiet and relaxed atmosphere is lacking, but if you go on a week night then you should be fine.

Emilios is also one of the few high-end restaurants that opens early for breakfast too which is really nice if you fancy a gourmet version of the traditional Colombian breakfast, they offer various egg dishes plus the legendary traditional Colombian staple of ‘Calentao’ ( Beans mixed with rice ).

You could be forgiven for thinking that Emilios has a bad reputation due to several bad reviews on Trip Advisor, but honestly each time I’ve been ( around 4 times now ) the service has always been excellent, I have had zero complaints. TripAdvisor is generally not a good resource for information about Pereira and Colombia, it is full of fake reviews and quite often very misleading. However, I would say that if you’re planning to go on a weekend make sure you make a reservation beforehand and expect slightly longer waiting times for your order.
